Parent-led volunteers promote positive involvement for WYB travel teams. WYB teams have 10-12 regular-season games in the Rhode Island Metrowest Travel Basketball League. On open weekends, WYB teams play in tournaments in Rhode Island and/or surrounding states. Therefore, volunteers will assist with:

• Setting up the gymnasium

• Operating the game clock

• Recording the official scorebook

• Sending pictures for social media

• Fundraising

• Team building activities

The role of parents is to support the coaching staff and teams participating in the WYB travel program. Your child is not a reflection of his/her performance on the court. He/she is a reflection of his/her attitude and effort. The goal for volunteers is to keep the morale high (whether our teams win or lose) so WYB shows the highest level of sportsmanship.
