CoachIng Expectations

Coaches are expected to create an environment at practices/games that promote good sportsmanship, development of basketball fundamentals, and teamwork. At the beginning of the season, coaches shall communicate their goals and policies (to players and parents) and must provide families with the league schedule, weekend tournaments, and practices days/times. Coaches are responsible for:

  • Refraining from actions or words that undercut the self-esteem of any player.

  • Assuring their players are respectful and put the team first.

Failure of any coach to comply with these policies may result in his/her removal from coaching in the Warwick Youth Basketball program.
